2000 w/SP4 Legacy Driver Installation Procedure
Note: These
instructions are because of a modification Microsoft has implemented to it’s
SP4 for Win 2000 OS which causes conflict when more than one Legacy Audio Driver
is installed. Please follow the instructions that most fit the description of
your configuration.
If you “DO NOT” have an Antex Card and
Drivers Installed and have SP4 Installed
You “WILL” need to install the Antex Legacy Audio Drivers once you have
finished with this set of instructions.
1. When you
start Windows 2000 for the first time after installing an
Antex PCI Audio Card the following notification may pop up:

2. Click “Next”.

3. Select “Search for a suitable driver…” and then click on Next>.

4. Select “Floppy disk drives” and then click on Next>.

5. You will see this message briefly.

6. Followed by this message. Select “Disable the device…”

7. You may now install the Antex Legacy Audio Drivers. See instructions below.
If you “DO” have an Antex PCI Audio Card
Installed and updated your OS to SP4
This set of instructions are
for customers who already have Antex PCI Card(s) installed and upgraded to SP4 from any
other SP. You will “NOT” need to
install the Antex Legacy Audio Driver because it is still in your system.
1. Go to your Control Panel and under “Sound, video and game controllers” you will see two instances of the Legacy Audio Drivers. Uninstall the first one from the top down by right mouse hand clicking on it and then select “Uninstall”.

2. Restart Windows and then you will see this message.

3. Click “Next”.

4. Select “Search for a suitable driver…” and then click on Next>.

5. Select “Floppy disk drives” and then click on Next>.

6. You will see this message briefly.

7. Followed by this message. Select “Disable the device…” and then click on “Finish”.

8. Close all windows on your desktop and we will now re-initialize the Antex Legacy Audio Driver you have in this system. Right mouse hand click “My Computer” and then select “Manage”. Once the window opens, click once on “Device Manager”.

9. Drop down “Sound, video and game controllers” and then double click on “Legacy Audio Drivers”.

10. Click on “Properties” tab.

11. Drop Down “Audio Devices”.

12. Double click
on “Audio for Antex Digital Audio
Driver”

13. Click on “Settings…” button.

14. The original settings will still be saved. All you need to do here is press “OK”. to re-initialize the Antex Legacy Driver.

15. Click “Yes”.

16. You will then see this window which indicates you have successfully re-initialized the Antex Digital Audio Driver and all you have to do now is click OK to all remaining windows and then close your Computer Management window.

Installing Antex Legacy
Audio Drivers
1. Open the folder which contains the Antex Legacy Audio Drivers and then click on setup.exe to start the installation procedure. Select “Continue”.

2. You will briefly see files being copied to the hard drive, shortly followed by this window below. Here you need to select and configure the Antex Card you are installing. Once you have selected the appropriate settings, you may click on “Ok”.

3. You will then see this window, just click on “Yes”.

4. You will then see this window notifying you that you have successfully installed the Antex Legacy Audio Drivers. You may click “Ok” to finish the installation.
