Overview
The SX-6 is the cost-effective solution for broadcasters,
systems integrators, and other audio and multimedia professionals
who require affordable, balanced output, broadcast quality
digital audio playback from their PC applications. Built around
a Texas Instruments Digital Signal Processor, the SX-6 not
only supports .WAV, MusiFile and .ATX file formats, it features
multiple advanced compression algorithms including ISO/MPEG
Layer I/II bit rate reduction technology for compression rates
of up to 16:1. Dual stereo playback in a single add-in card
gives broadcasters the flexibility to overlap spots or songs
for seamless segues. There's even a feed-through microphone
input that can be mixed with the source output via the SX-6's
on-board mixer. No need for external gear! And because it
features balanced analog outputs, the SX-6 provides seamless
interfacing to professional audio applications.
The Series 2 family of digital audio adapters from Antex
are the premier choice for multi-channel, ultra high fidelity,
direct to disk digital sound sampling and playback. That's
because Antex is focused on bringing solutions and the latest
technology to OEMs, systems integrators, broadcasters, audio
professionals and personal computer users. And that's why
thousands of professionals world-wide rely on Antex digital
audio quality in their PCs. To hear all the possibilities

Software Development Tools
Antex Series 2/SX-6 driver software allows an application
program to provide direct to-disk and playback of high quality
digital audio using the SX-6 under either DOS, Microsoft Windows,
Windows NT or OS/2.Under DOS a high level digital audio Application
Program Interface (API) allows all of the SX-6 features to
be fully utilized. Languages supported include C, Pascal,
and BASIC. The drivers are available as an Audio Developers
Kit (ADK) in either a TSR or Linkable version and are downward
compatible with existing Antex drivers. In Windows 3.1, 95
and NT, the SX-6 is supported by the multimedia extension
allowing it to be used with any Windows multimedia application.
Because of the SX-6's on board DSP, the format for audio data
is completely user programmable. Standard data formats provided
are 16 bit PCM, 8-bit PCM, OKI ADPCM, MS ADPCM, and ISO/MPEG
Layer I/II.
