Overview
The SX-36 turns an off-the shelf PC or compatible into a
flexible, multi channel, broadcast quality digital audio recorder
and player. Offering the latest dual device capability on
a single add-in card, the SX-36 allows dual mono or stereo
recording and playback, even playback of one stereo channel
while simultaneously recording on the another. That’s
just scratching the surface. The SX-36 provides compression
rates of up to 16:1 using multiple user-selectable formats
including ISO/MPEG Layer I & II bit rate reduction technology.
Plus, the SX-36 features an on-board mixer, unbalanced microphone
input and balanced line-aux I/O for a seamless interface to
nearly any professional PC-based audio application. All this
at a low price that makes Antex proven quality sound even

Antex Series 2/SX-36 driver software allows an application
program to provide direct-to-disk recording and playback of
high quality digital audio using the SX-36 under either DOS
or Microsoft Windows. Under DOS, a high level digital audio
application Program Interface (API) allows all of the SX-36
features to be fully utilized. Languages supported include
C, Pascal, Basic and Assembly. The drivers are available as
an Audio Developers Kit (ADK) in either a TSR or Linkable
version and are downward compatible with existing Antex drivers.
With the on-board DSP, the format for audio data is completely
user programmable.
