Antex Electronics (Gardena, CA.), another visionary company likely to change the way we receive information, has created the Media Director digital “organizer” for visual and audio messages. The message organizer can replace static billboards or posters with videos and incorporate customized programs for each audience location.

One server located in a main office can control several Media Directors at remote sites, allowing each unit to play its own content based on region, time, or season. Depending on the display medium of choice, the images can be delivered as high-resolution still images, full-screen MPEG-2 video or high-fidelity audio. Retails stores that feature lifestyle and sport videos to pump up the shopping experience can now customize images and incorporate promotional advertisements for each individual store.

The display device of choice can vary in size and clarity – it can range from a television monitor, a flat panel display screen, an LCD or a plasma display screen to a jumbo-sized LED screen. The applications for display are limitless, as is the room for creativity.

If ever the name of this magazine reflected the significance of changing times in the industry, now is the time. Science and Technology have advanced the way we communicate and receive information. Even as applications are placing themselves within reality’s reach, future possibilities stimulate our imaginations. Whichever road participants in this industry select, it’s sure to be adventuresome.
