NEW DIGITAL AUDIO ADAPTER DELIVERS INCREASED 20-BIT AUDIO
QUALITY TO TOP RANKED AUDIO FOR VIDEO SOUNDCARD
New Antex StudioCard
2000 brings 20-bit quality to the most advanced audio
synchronization for digital video production.
Gardena, California. (April 6, 1998) -- Antex Electronics,
the leading manufacturer of digital audio adapters for professional-quality
PC-based recording and playback, today introduced the StudioCard®2000
at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Conference
in Las Vegas. The new 20-bit, multi-channel digital audio
adapter provides improved audio quality and functionality
for digital music production and digital audio for video applications.
StudioCard®2000 software drivers are optimized for nonlinear
digital video editing applications running under Windows NT.
Utilizing 20-bit converters and advanced delta-sigma oversampling
technology with linear phase response, the Antex StudioCard®
2000 achieves a dynamic range of up to 99 dB with an impressive
20 dB of headroom and -90 db (0.003%) total harmonic distortion.
Further upgrades on the new card include a built-in header
for a field-installable expansion card that provides a second
stereo digital input/output. This allows a second pair of
AES/EBU digital I/Os to operate in parallel with the first.
The StudioCard 2000 also features optional accessories like
the newly released Antex breakout box and a daughtercard expansion
connector for effects processing plug-ins.
To take advantage of all available PCI slots inside the typical
PC workstation, the new 3/4-length Antex StudioCard®2000
is smaller than previous StudioCards. The 32 bit memory mapped
board offers 20-bit audio quality that exceeds the most demanding
digital audio requirements for digital video, broadcast, film
and multimedia.
The new StudioCard®2000 has all the advanced synchronization
capabilities of the groundbreaking StudioCard® AV Pro.
This gives production professionals unlimited flexibility
in choosing the method for locking audio to video. The highly
evolved PLL sample rate clock locks to any external clock
source including AES/EBU, S/PDIF, word clock, video pixel
clock and NTSC and PAL composite video. StudioCard®2000
also reads and writes SMPTE and MIDI to give sound designers
and composers compatibility with the most popular digital
recording and sequencing software.
Due for release Q3, 1998, the Antex StudioCard®2000 will
ship complete with drivers, manual and the StudioCard breakout
bundle with all connectors for easy integration into the editing
suite or studio. There is also an optional Antex Breakout
Box to ease cable clutter and provide access to all of StudioCard®2000’s
analog and digital connectors.
StudioCard®2000 will have a manufacturer’s suggested
retail price of $1595.
