NEW BROADCAST-QUALITY BALANCED LINE DIGITAL AUDIO ADAPTERS PROVIDE EXCEPTIONAL SOUND, EASY INTERFACE

SX-36 and SX-6 offer a lower price for balanced line I/O in PC recording and playback

Gardena, California (April 7, 1997) -- With the introduction today of the Antex Series 2/SX-36 and SX-6 digital audio adapters, Antex Electronics establishes a new low price point for balanced line flexibility in a high end, single-ISA digital audio solution. Designed for broadcast, entertainment and multimedia applications, the new Antex products feature dual-device operation, multiple compression formats and balanced analog I/O for easy integration into any audio or video production environment.

The Antex Series 2/SX-36 digital audio adapter provides multi-channel, high fidelity, direct-to-disk, digital sound sampling and reproduction with 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response and minimum dynamic range of 85 dB. The SX-36 has balanced analog inputs and outputs for seamless interfacing to professional applications such as broadcast automation. Fully ISA-compatible, the 1/2 size add-in card also features multiple compression formats including MPEG Layer I/II bit rate reduction technology for compression rates of up to 16:1.

Of particular interest to broadcasters is the SX-36's dual stereo record and play capability. Users can record on one stereo channel while airing program material on the other. All these features, plus a versatile on-board mixer with multiple inputs and outputs make the SX-36 ideal for digital recording and mastering; audio/visual multimedia presentations, kiosks and broadcast automation.

To utilize all the SX-36's features and maximize its capabilities, Antex Electronics offers a high level digital audio Application Program Interface (API) for DOS. Languages supported include C, Pascal, BASIC and Assembly. The drivers are available as an Audio Developers Kit (ADK) in either a TSR or a linkable version and are downward compatible with existing Antex drivers. The SX-36 is available now at a list price of $995.00. An Audio Developers Kit (DOS) is available for $750.00.

The Antex Series 2/SX-6 is a cost-effective companion board to the SX-36. Designed to playback files recorded on the SX-36, it features the same broadcast quality sound, balanced analog outputs and multiple data compression decoding capabilities as the SX-36.

Dual stereo MPEG playback at 32 kHz gives broadcast facilities the ability to overlap spots or songs, and unique to the SX-6, a feedthrough microphone input allows live voice to be mixed with the output through the on-board mixer. There is no need for external gear to accomplish this function.

This SX-6 also features a programmable EEPROM for OEM software protection and is available with drivers for DOS, Windows (3.x, 95 and NT) and OS/2. The SX-6 is available now for a list price of $550.00. An Audio Developers Kit (DOS) is available for $750.00.

The Series 2/SX-36 and SX-6 are designed and manufactured in the USA by Antex Electronics Corporation in Gardena, California. The company offers over 25 models of superior quality digital audio adapters that are used by thousands of audio, post-production, multimedia and broadcast professionals worldwide.
