Antex Announces StudioCard:
High-end features ideal for multimedia and post-production professionals

Gardena, California. (April 15, 1996) -- Drawing on its decade-long experience of providing the highest quality digital audio adapters to OEMs in the broadcast, production and music industries, Antex Electronics has introduced StudioCard, the first PCI-based digital audio adapter with 4 tracks of studio-quality, 18-bit sound and real-time digital mixing capability.

The Antex StudioCard is a 32-bit memory mapped board that delivers less than 0.003% total harmonic distortion and 92dB dynamic range - the only standalone board to offer this level of quality for the PC environment.

Designed for musicians, multimedia producers and post-production professionals who want digital multitracking and mixing on their PCs, and who are looking for a versatile board for post-production, the StudioCard boasts high-quality components including: a programmable 32-bit 40mHz DSP and pro-quality connections such as 4 independent balanced I/Os (+4dBu or -10dBv) and AES/EBU or S/PDIF digital I/O. Plus, StudioCard offers an MPU-401 compatible MIDI port. No matter the type of equipment used, StudioCard will integrate into standard studio environments. It also can be used regardless of the media environment - film, video or MIDI.

StudioCard's features are perfect for the post-production environment. It offers sample accurate synchronization via SMPTE, MTC, host clock and external word clock. Plus, StudioCard not only reads SMPTE timecode, but generates it as well. It includes a PLL-based sample clock generator that supports sample rates between 6.25 kHz and 50 kHz in 50 Hz increments.

A multiple adapter capability, unique to StudioCard's design, allows the user to install multiple StudioCards in a single computer for up to 16-track recording. User configurations can begin with one card and add more as needed. In addition, an on-board SPx expansion connector enables the use of optional daugthercards for compression or enhanced DSP operations.

StudioCard is plug and play compatible, includes drivers for Windows NT and is bundled with popular digital audio software.

The new StudioCard 4 Track Digital Audio Adapter is designed and manufactured in the USA by Antex Electronics Corporation, 16100 S. Figueroa St., Gardena, CA 90248, (310)532-3092, (310)532-8509 (FAX).
